My PhD Project - under construction
About Me
I am a research student in the Cogent Computing Applied research Centre at Coventry University working under the guidance of Dr Fotis Liarokapis and Dr James Shuttleworth.
Prior to my studies I worked for over six years in a number of IT organizations. before deciding to pursue an undergraduate degree program at Coventry University. I graduated in June 2006 with a BSc Honors Degree in Computer Science and immediately started working for Fujitsu as an IT Contractor for Lloyds TSB Bank. During my time there I worked at 81 branches in the UK, migrating their systems from NT 2000 to NT 2003 & XP Professional. In January 2007 I decided to return to Coventry University to pursue postgraduate studies and in June 2008 was awarded an MSc in Computer Science. I decided to continue on with a PhD study programme and started in October 2008.
My research focuses on visualisation of environmental monitoring data gathered using wireless sensor networks (WSN). Specifically I will be investigating mixed and augmented reality techniques as a means of visualising multi-sensor data including: temperature, air pressure, humidity and light. In addition, my work will look at incorporating security measures for increased robustness of deployed monitoring systems within a number of application domains.
